This project is an example of a Request for Proposal we send prospective clients. This case is somewhat unique in that Mercedes was a former client of Simplepart and decided to give their business to a competitor. After their contract expired, Mercedes expressed interest in returning to the Simplepart platform. The before and after highlights the current parts site as designed by the competitor vs. what we propose their new site to include.
This also showcases the importance remaining consistent with a client's brand identity while incorporating the base level platform structure.
The Before
- As a luxury brand, Mercedes relies heavily on bespoke imagery. Competitor site does not embrace the essence of the brand's identity.
- No distinction between maintenance parts and aftermarket accessories. These two user experience journeys are motivated by very different factors and should appeal to those needs.
- Lack of on-page confirmation that parts fit the selected vehicle lead to purchase hesitancy and loss of sales.
The After
- Intentional consistency with brand guidelines and identity both satisfy the client's requirements and affirm customers' expectations that they are shopping for their luxury brand vehicle.
- Separate and unique visual design between maintenance parts and aftermarket accessories gives clear user journey expectations while tailoring each experience for the "need" vs. the "want".
- On-page guided navigation is displayed as soon as potential hesitancy or cart-add opportunities arise in order to increase purchase confidence and increase sales.

Accessories Experience
A beautiful experience to match the premium experience for customers buying vehicle accessories. Where parts are a necessity, accessories are a luxury. These designs capture that concept.

Accessory Desking Tool
A simple, yet effective interface for sales reps to showcase and order vehicle accessories on the showroom floor. Modeled after MICROCAT, the most popular EPC in the dealer space, this design capitalizes on that familiarity while providing a tool to decrease confusion and increase sales conversions.

Control Panel
This backend dealer tool gives access to all aspects of the part buying process, including marketing tools, various data sets, and sales and traffic trends. This in-progress design helps to simplify the journey and return the desired data as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Price Box
As one of the most important component of a part sales site, the price box must have optimal UX for sales conversion. This design considers dealer proximity, price, and fulfillment to give users the best price-shopping experience while keeping local dealers front of mind.

Reference Template
A large-scale, largely unseen design-forward project. These designs rely on developer collaboration to “templatize” the SimplePart platform. By indexing each component with style variables in mind, new client sites can stand up much quicker and with less bug-hunting.

Mercedes RFP
An example of design within constraints. This design showcases the merger web design and following OEM brand guidelines while staying within the capabilities of the SimplePart platform.
